Baltimore -- X-Games X vert ramp gold medal winner Bucky
Lasek and silver medal winner Pierre Luc Gagnon will be performing in
Virginia Beach in conjunction with the East Coast Surfing Championship,
the longest running surf tournament in the United States, as part of
the Thrash & Jam Tour August 28-29.
With his recent win in Los Angeles at X-Games X, Lasek, a Baltimore
native, has won four gold medals in X-Games competition (1999, 2000,
2003, 2004), giving him more vert gold medals than any other vert skater.
Since 1999 has won a combined seven gold medals in X-Games and Gravity
Games competition.
Gagnon won the World Globe Championships in 2003 and finished the 2002
season as the No. 2 skater in the world. He has won a combined three
gold medals and five silver medals in X-Games and Gravity Games competition,
including three silver medals in this year’s X-Games.
One of the most consistent vert skaters, Buster Halterman finished
the 2003 season as the seventh-ranked skater. He has placed in the top
10 in both legs of the 2004 Vans Triple Crown.
Scheduled to skate with Lasek, Gagnon and Halterman will be Jake Brown,
Paul Zitzer, Mathias Ringstrom, Sanford Lopez, Derek Krasauskas and
Elliott Sloan. Tentative demo performance schedule listed below:
