2001 East Coast Surfing Championships PRO Surfing Heat Results - Finals

Virginia Beach, Va. -The 39th annual East Coast Surfing Championships, The Virginia Beach Jaycees, and The United States Surfing Federation are pleased to announce the final scores for the 4th day of Pro Surfing competition.

The surf remained in the 6-foot range for Sunday's finals. The Pros made good use of the large surf by putting on a spectacular show for the crowd. This dramatic finale proved once again why the ECSC remains a favored event amongst competitors and spectators alike.

All results listed blow are FINALS. First place finishers will hold the title of East Coast Surfing Champion for their respective divisions until the 2002 ECSC.

Women Shortboard - Final

1st - Julia Christiansen, Carlsbad, Cal. - $2,000 2nd - Jamie Dewitt, North Beach Haven, NJ - $1,500 3rd - Linda Davoli, Ocean City, NJ - $900 4th - Ainslee Wallace, Virginia Beach - $500

Men Shortboard - Final

1st - Brian Hewittson, SanClemente, Cal. - $4,000 2nd - Jesse Merle Jones, Hawaii - $2,000 3rd - Jeff Deffenbaugh, Huntington Beach, Cal. - $1,500 4th - Eric Taylor, Vero Beach, FL - $1,300

Longboard - Final

1st - Hunter Lupton, Atlantic Beach, NC - $500 2nd - Timothy McAuliffe, Wrightsville Beach, NC - $250 3rd - Ryan Gay, Virginia Beach - $150 4th - Steven Mangiacapri, Wrightsville Beach, NC - $100

Bodyboard - Final
