2001 East Coast Surfing Championships- Surfing Heat Results - Friday

Virginia Beach, Va. -The 39th annual East Coast Surfing Championships, The Virginia Beach Jaycees, and The United States Surfing Federation are pleased to announce the scores for the 3rd day of amateur and the 2nd day of Pro Surfing competition.

Friday provided the competitors with a small southeasterly swell. Onshore winds have begun to build the swell for the weekend. Surf forecasters have now turned their attention away from a dissipating Tropical Storm Dean and towards a mild nor'easter that has begun to build just offshore. The top internet surf forecasting site has predicted up to six foot surf for late Saturday and into Sunday. Competitors are looking forward to the larger conditions of the next two days.

All surfers listed below have advanced to the next round of competition.
